Spend time in silence

CHALLENGE:  Spend time in silence

  • Beginner: Wake up 10 minutes earlier than normal and spend 10 minutes in silence
  • Intermediate: Wake up 15 minutes earlier than normal and spend 15 minutes in silence
  • Advanced: Wake up 20 minutes earlier than normal and spend 20 minutes in silence
  • Extreme: Wake up 60 minutes earlier than normal and spend 60 minutes in silence

Why do This?  Here are some of the benefits when you sit in silence:  become calmer, learn to understand yourself better, improve awareness, tap into your creativity, improve patience

Tips and tricks for Success:

  • Practice the first thing in the morning
  • Practice in a place where you have the fewest distractions

What I have learned from sitting in silence:

When I first tried sitting in silence the time seemed to go by very slowly.  I didn’t know what to do with myself.   It takes practice.  What has worked well for me is to just let my thoughts freely come and go, similar to how clouds pass through the sky.
