Sign up or commit to something that you want to do but are nervous to do.

Quote of the Day: “Security Is Mostly A Superstition. Life Is Either A Daring Adventure Or Nothing.” –Helen Keller

CHALLENGE:   Sign up or commit to something that you want to do but are nervous to do.  This can be as simple as telling your friend you will run 3 miles with them.  The important thing is that you are nervous about the challenge you are committing to.

Why do This?  So many times in our lives we regret the chances we did not take.  The times in life when we feel most alive are when we take steps to do things outside our comfort zone.  It is usually most rewarding when we do uncomfortable things that make us challenge our fears.

Tips and tricks for Success:

  • Make a list of things you have been wanting to do that make your nervous.
  • Pick from your list the thing that you can take action on in the near future. If there is something you can do immediately than pick that challenge.
  • Make your commitment public to your friends and family so that you can stay accountable

What I have learned about signing up for things that I want to do that make me nervous:

Signing up for things that make me nervous has brought me so much joy throughout my life.  I have found that the moment I feel moved to do something is the best time to commit.  Don’t think too much about it (unless it is something that can jeopardize your safety), just commit.  The photo to the right is me about to look over the edge off a 3,000 foot waterfall in Brazil.  I was nervous!
