Send an Appreciation note/text/email to someone you have never sent an appreciation message to

Quote of the Day:  “If you don’t challenge yourself then you don’t know yourself”

CHALLENGE:  Send an Appreciation note/text/email to someone you have never sent an appreciation message to and provide examples of why you appreciate them

Why do This?    We as humans often become entitled and just expect people to do things for us.   It is nice to stop and reflect upon those in our lives that we appreciate and to let them know our appreciation by communicating in an honest and vulnerable way.  This practice will also build our gratitude towards those we care about.

Tips and tricks for Success:

  • Send the message to a friend, loved one, co-worker, or anyone that you sincerely appreciate
  • Be honest and authentic with your message, let it come from the heart
  • Provide specific examples of why you appreciate them
  • The message doesn’t need to be long just heartfelt

What I have learned about sending appreciation messages:

Every time I have sent an appreciation note to someone it has made me feel good.  For me, I feel vulnerable, which at first is an uncomfortable feeling but after I send the message I feel fulfilled.   Most of the time I receive a kind response from the receiver.  Occasionally I have not received a response.  The response is not what is important.  What is important is that you have shown your vulnerability and tried to brighten up someone else’s day.
