Reduce screen time

Quote of the Day:  “Are you really happy or just comfortable?”

CHALLENGE: Reduce screen time

  • Beginner: no screen time for the 1st hr of your day
  • Intermediate: no screen time for the first 4 hours of your day
  • Advanced: no screen time for the first 8 hours of your day
  • Extreme: no screen time for an entire weekend (Friday evening to Monday morning)

Why do This?  The avg. person spends 4 hours a day on their devices.  Less screen time will result in a healthy mind and body, especially if you use those hours towards trying new things that are active and engaging both physically and mentally

Tips and tricks for Success:

  • Plan ahead
  • Set expectations that you will not be available or responding quickly
  • Figure out an activity or new skill you want to learn or do

What I have learned by reducing screen time:

I am without a doubt more productive, present, and engaged when I reduce my screen time.  Reducing my screen time has allowed me to free up time to pursue things that bring me joy.  When I put down my device I am so much more likely to appreciate the wonder that is all around me.
