Exercise longer than you normally would

CHALLENGE:  Exercise longer than you normally would

  • Beginner: Exercise for 5 extra minutes
  • Intermediate: Exercise for 10 extra minutes
  • Advanced: Exercise for 30 extra minutes
  • Extreme: Exercise for 90 extra minutes

Why do This?  We are capable of so much more than we realize.  It is important for us to get out of our routines and push ourselves physically and mentally even further outside of our comfort zone than we normally would.  This is where all the magic happens.

Tips and tricks for Success:

  • Set a timer
  • Pace yourself
  • Have a friend join you

What I have learned about pushing a little harder while exercising: 

It is always nice to exercise with a companion.  I find that I usually push myself a little harder when I am with someone, especially on those days when I am not as motivated.  My friends and I sometimes encourage each other to go a little deeper than normal into the Uncomfortable zone.  When we do this, we feel a greater sense of fulfillment that we pushed a little harder than normal.
